Many people live their lives with constant worry and stress. Their mind is always racing. Your constantly thinking about your to-do list and what needs to be done. It’s almost impossible to have the energy to do what you actually want to do in life when your mind is constantly thinking. Life is meant to be enjoyed.
- Count your blessings
- Be thankful for everything in life and count your blessings everyday. Even if you aren’t in your ideal situation right now, think of all the things you appreciate now. Be thankful for the food you eat, the clothes on your back, a place you can call home, your eyes that allow you to see. The lungs that allow you to breathe effortlessly. Be thankful for it all.
- Live in the present moment
- Slow down and enjoy each moment. Don’t rush through life. Really stop and enjoy the little things in life. Enjoy the beautiful views outside, enjoy that nice cup of coffee, and love a life full of pleasure. Get into the present moment as much as possible.
- Avoid worrying about things you can’t control.
- There’s no sense in worrying about things that are out of our control. Have faith that everything is working out for you, just the way it’s supposed to and all in the right time.
- Live a simpler life
- Get rid of anything that no longer serves you weather it be relationships, a situation you’re in, clutter in your home. Live simply by only keeping the things you really love in life. Clutter in life can distract you and can feel overwhelming. Only bring items into your home that add value to your life, that are high quality, and that you enjoy.
- Think of the positive part of any situation.
- No matter what situation you may find yourself, there is always something positive about it. In any negative situation there’s always a lesson you can learn. What could you do better next time? How can this situation make you grow as a person? Even if it seems like the worse thing possible, things could always be worse so be thankful for what you do have.
- Don’t overbook yourself. Keep time in your schedule to relax, unwind and to do things you love. Life is meant to be joyful. There’s always another time you can get the items done on your to-do list. When you allow yourself time to relax and enjoy life, your quality of life improves therefore everything else in your life will improve.
- Exercise.
- Do any sort of physical activity you enjoy. Maybe it’s going for a walk, swimming, bike riding, playing in the snow, weight lifting, dancing. The list is endless! Find what you enjoy and move your body everyday.
- Eat healthy.
- Eat a well-balanced diet including plenty of fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, lean meats, and whole grains. Aim to eat at least 5 servings of fruit and vegetables per day in varied colors.
