1. Dancing. Dancing is a great way to exercise. You can do it on your own from anywhere, without any equipment! 20-30 minutes of dancing can really break a sweat. Bonus it’s a lot of fun and doesn’t feel like hard work. You can either put on your favorite playlist or try a class in person or online like Zumba, salsa, etc. There are tons of online videos you can watch in the comfort of your own home.
2. Pilates. Pilates is a great low impact workout that focuses on toning and strengthening your muscles, especially your core. It also helps you relax and breathe deeply, like yoga. There are again, tons of online classes you can take or join a studio or gym nearby that offers these classes. I personally love taking pilates classes on the Peloton app. It’s only $12.99 a month for access to the app which is well worth it as it includes 1000s of different classes likes yoga, barre, strength training, walking exercises, meditations, and so much more! If you’re interested in purchasing a peloton tread, or bike, use this code for $100 hardware accessories.

4. Walking. Don’t underestimate the power of a great walk. Walking is something you can practice from nearly anywhere. Treadmills are also a great investment for the days when the weather is not so great. Add an extra challenge by adding an incline or hills to your walking routine. This adds a little more resistance and is a great workout for your legs and glutes. I love walking at a 8-12% incline for 30 minutes on 3mph with a quick warm up and cool down, it’s a great workout and you will certainly break a sweat.
5. Swimming. Swimming is such a fun way to workout. I don’t know about you, but I feel like I could swim for hours! It is a wonderful low impact, whole body workout. It engages nearly every muscle in your body and is a great cardiovascular exercise. People of all ages can swim and enjoy the stress reducing benefits.
6. Elliptical. The elliptical is a great piece of equipment to use at your local gym. You can also purchase one so you can workout in the comfort of your home. It’s kind of like a cross between a bike and a treadmill. It’s a great low-impact cardiovascular exercise. If you have joint pain or arthritis, an elliptical is a great option.
7. Bicycling. Bicycling is another great low impact exercise. You can either bike ride outside, at a local gym, or in the comfort of your own home if you own a stationary bike. Biking to where you are going like work, or the store is a great option for both the environment and your body. Biking can be a great pollution-free mode of transportation. Biking is not only a great cardiovascular exercise, but also great for building muscle.
8. Strength training. Strength training can be done by using your body weight, getting some free weights, or using a machine. If you have a set of dumbbells at home, you can easily get a workout in at any time. Strength training can help you become stronger and tone your muscles. There are many videos online of different strength training exercises or join a local gym. Be sure to consult a professional, like a certified personal trainer, to ensure you are practicing proper form before starting strength training exercises.
